Google Translate Chrome Issue - Words changing when typed in Gmail

Last Updated: Mar 06, 2015 11:38AM EST
Users are experiencing an issue where as they are typing emails in Gmail, words are changing to other words and the cursor is shifting about.  The red Compose Button no longer says Compose, but instead says 'Made Up'

Identified Cause:
Google Translate is kicking a weird error where it is autodetecting parts of the page to be in French, and then is translating text back into English as it perceives it, going through (apparently) several steps so it comes out gibberish.

Solutions:
Refreshing the full browser window (not just Gmail) can clear this issue, but it will recur. By administrative policy, the plugin cannot be disabled generally, but it can be tried depending on how the person is logged in.

The solution path has been to delete the 'Chrome' folder in C:\{USERID}\AppData\Local\Google

This will delete and then regenerate these files, redownloading all extensions.  As it also removes other saved Google Chrome data, it should not be used unless no other options present itself.
